Tomoko Shimomura
Asana teacher / TTC & Parents and kids camp coodinator / School secretary
Tomoko Shimomura was the very first student of our school to discover Hatha Yoga through Yogender ji’s guidance and dedicated study under him. She began learning from Yogender ji even before the school opened, and soon became deeply captivated by the world of Hatha Yoga. After the school’s opening, she joined the inaugural TTC held as part of the special opening ceremony, and later served as an assistant in our signature TTC programs. Splitting her time between India and Japan, she plays an important role in sharing and expanding the reach of traditional Hatha Yoga in both countries. During her stays at the school, she conducts asana classes for guests. Drawing on her 10 years of experience teaching Japanese as a foreign language in both Japan and India, she also teaches Japanese at our kids’ camps, fostering cultural exchange between the two nations. While in Japan, she continues to support the school by teaching online classes. Tomoko has completed TTC and ATTC of the school, and is a Yoga Wellness Instructor certified by the Government of India.
